Senator Marty Block representing the 39th Senate District of California visited the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center last week. The tour included all of the Centers’ amenities and a demonstration of our Pathway to Health Kiosk.
Senator Block ended his visit announcing that his office moved right into the heart of downtown San Diego and that he and his staff will be frequent visitors at the center. Followed by applause from our dining room guests, Senator Block congratulated Senior Community Centers for having “one of the finest senior centers, not only in San Diego, but in all of California.”
Senator Marty Block is a former Assembly member and replaced Senator Christine Kehoe in the 39th Senate District which consists of nearly the entire city of San Diego, including the coastal areas from Del Mar to Coronado.
Senior Community Centers’ Advocacy program has formed valuable relationships with our elected officials over the years and we look forward to working with Senator Block to make a difference for the seniors we serve.
