Senior Community Centers’ Seniors First San Diego Hosts the First-Ever San Diego Mayor Candidate Forum Addressing Critical Senior Issues

On Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center, we invite you to join us as we ask San Diego mayoral candidates their views on how they plan to shape legislation to keep up with exponentially growing senior population in our region.

George Chamberlin, executive editor of The Daily Transcript will moderate, and all four candidates, Carl DeMaio, Bonnie Dumanis, Bob Filner and Nathan Fletcher, have confirmed their attendance. The event is sponsored by The Daily Transcript and PRIME/San Diego Seniors. Seating is very limited, so please reserve your seat in advance by clicking here or calling (619) 487-0743.

At the Seniors First San Diego Mayoral Candidate Forum, candidates will be presented with key topics and concerns facing seniors:

  • Transportation
  • Healthcare Delivery
  • Nutrition
  • Affordable Housing
  • Employment Gap

While most of our questions for the mayoral forum will be predetermined, we have left one question open for the public to contribute. Please submit your specific question for consideration by Tuesday, May 1 to Christina Griffith at christina.griffith@servingseniors.org.

If you are unable to attend the event, please tune into Twitter and follow @servingseniors and @seniorsfirstsd with the hashtag #SCCMayor to find out the juicy details live from the podium.

We look forward to sharing valuable information with you to help you determine your vote for the next mayor of San Diego.

See you there!
