Monday, December 5, 2-4 pm, Senator Kehoe and Assembly member Atkins will host a Senior Scammer Seminar at the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center. This event if open to the public, free and provides information to protect seniors from fraud and other harmful situations. When we were approached by Senator Kehoe’s office, we gladly agreed to provide the space for this event. We strive to be a resource for our community in preventing and recognizing instances of elder abuse. Click here for the flyer>>Senior Scammer Seminar 12.5.11
Chris and Toni are great representatives to the senior community. We are fortunate to have them fighting for us. Most recently, Senator Kehoe played a pivotal role in moving forward Assembly Bill 138, The Elder Economic Planning Act of 2011. Both Chris and Toni voted in support of this bill. I’ve previously wrote about the importance of the Elder Index, as a replacement for the Federal Poverty Level. This is an important victory for seniors and we appreciate their work. We see more seniors than we’re able to help through our transitional housing program. We appreciate the work Toni does as chair on the Select Committee on Homelessness.
